Q1: I AM SEARCHING FOR A TELESCOPE FOR MY 6 YEAR OLD SON WHO WANTS TO SEE THE STARS AND THE MOON. BEING ONLY 6 I DO NOT WANT TO GET ANYTHING TO HARD TO WORK OR TOO EXPENSIVE. ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANK YOU! LIsa

A: Actually the Meade 70mm AZ Telescope is an excellent choice of telescopes. Another scope that would be an excellent choice is the Zhumell Zenith. It is another moderately priced scope that is very easy to set-up and use for anyone of any age.

Q2: i am looking for a telescope for my 9 year old grandson who has expressed an interest. what would be good for his age and not over $100

A: This would be a perfect scope for a 9 yr old. Being a refractor it is ideal for viewing the planets and other objects in our solar system.

Q3: I am buying this for my 10 year old son who is into the stars. Will he beable to see "stars" with this? I saw that under "atributes" the anwser to ability to see star clusters is "no".

A: For "Stars" you will want to look at the Reflector style scopes. They will allow you to get a much larger aperture for the price than a refractor. With Stars aperture is key the bigger the better as it allows the scope to gather more light.

Q4: I received this telescope for Christmas, and have no clue how to work it. Is there a booklet with instructions? I ahve never used a telescope before, and am very confused, although quite excited!

A: actually you can download the instruction manual right off of the Meade website(www.meade.com) in the customer support section.

Q5: I have this telescope, and I would like to know the accessories I could purchase for it. I am a newbie when it comes to scopes.

A: Many accessories are available for the Meade 70 AZ-AR scope. Probably the most useful are a good set of eyepieces and filters and the Meade Electronic Eyepiece, which will allow you to view what your scope is "seeing" on a TV screen. A pretty complete list is to be found under "Accessories" on the telescope's web page here: http://telescopes.com/products/meade-70az-ar-altazimuth-refractor-31200.html.
